Are we following Jesus or spiritual principles?

Greetings dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

After posting the last prophetic warning I received from the Lord (Time to prepare is almost over), concerned saints have written in to me and asked me to explain exactly what it means to prepare our hearts before Him.  And, what is our part in it and what is His part in the preparing of our hearts.

In my response to these dear saints, the Lord laid something on my heart to share with them along with answering their question.  After responding back to them, I cannot shake off what is on my heart that the Lord wanted me to share.  Therefore, I believe that there are many other believers out there that need to hear what the Lord laid on my heart, as it pertains to our making it through the days of darkness that are coming.

First, I would like to address those that may have the same question of how to prepare our hearts.  In the prophetic warning, the Lord emphasized the repentance of lukewarmness.  We MUST get all sin and weights out of our lives.  Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,.  Darkness is going to cover the earth and people like never before and even the smallest compromise in our lives will open the door for us to be overtaken by this darkness.  Is. 60:2 “For behold, darkness will cover the earth And deep darkness the peoples;

The second thing He warned us about is fellowship with the world.  Those that are friends with this world will be found on the side of darkness.  James 4:4 You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.  Of course we are not to go out from this world, but we are not to love this world or have heart fellowship with the unrighteous.  2 Cor. 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? John 17:15 I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil

And also, He said for us to separate ourselves unto Him.  Ever since Jesus died on the cross, saints have known Him as their savior.  Few have known Him as Lord and Master.  And fewer still ever get to know Him as their bridegroom.   We must all move on from just knowing Him as savior and learn to yield to Him as our LORD.  Those not wholly given over to Him will not make it in the days ahead.

Upon heeding the Lord to obey these warnings, we must keep ourselves away from all sin and stay alert in spirit.  1 Peter 5:8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  So our part in preparing our hearts is to do these things and stay in obedience, fellowship and communion with Him in the secret chambers (our prayer closet) and keep our eyes (heart) fixed on Jesus (the word).  Then, He will protect us, provide for us, and keep us in the light and we will not be caught unaware.  1 Thes. 5:6 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep (be unaware or not alert), as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.

Now if we do these things in obedience to Him, then He will do the work in our hearts to keep His light shining in us so that we will be spiritually awake and alert at all times.  Also, we will have confidence toward Him that He is faithful to keep His promises.  1 John 3:21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;

Now I would like to share what the Lord laid on my heart when answering the concerned saints that wrote in to me.  This may offend some believers.  However, it is not my intention to do so.  Nor do I wish to start any debate about doctrine.  This is simply what the Lord laid on my heart to share because those that will have ears to hear will be greatly equipped by heeding to this.

As we all should know, we are in the last days.  And the bible tells us that in the last days there will be false doctrines in the church to cause believers to fall from the true faith.  1 Tim. 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;  Much of the popular teachings of today are no longer a gospel of taking up our cross and living a holy life.  We now have gospels of prosperity and success.  With these new doctrines, many Christians have fallen away from the true faith and don’t even know it.  I don’t wish to get into all of these false doctrines.  I just wish to share specifically what the Lord laid on my heart.

Years ago in my early Christian years I was so hungry for God that I read as many teachings as I could.  And I listened to many Christian television programs.  In listening to the programs and reading the current Christian books, I was introduced to what is commonly known as the “faith movement”.  Even though I was new in the Lord, I at least had enough discernment to know that some of what I was hearing was not true.  I knew that Jesus did not die on the cross so that we could all have big houses and drive expensive cars.  Of course I believed that He did bless some people with abundant finances.  But I did not think that it was so His children could consume it all upon their fleshly desires.  Also, I believed the scripture that says we are to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness, not the things of this world.  Matt. 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  And I knew that if we are seeking after His righteousness, then we will not have lust for the things of this world.

However, even though I didn’t take teachings of the faith movement for selfish gain, I did believe some of it’s teachings like “standing in faith” for God to do something I was asking for.  Then during one season of my life, the Lord lovingly corrected me and had me to repent and renounce the false doctrine that I had been following.  He showed me that for us to believe that if we stand in faith for anything and believe that He is obligated to honor our faith, even if it is one of His promises, then that is pride and not true faith.  This belief makes Him subject to us.  It cannot be true because He is OUR Lord and Master and is in no way subject to us.  Another thing He showed me about this false doctrine is that it has believers following so-called spiritual principles instead of a living person and Master.  Also, this is not true faith because faith works by love and true love is never self seeking.  Gal. 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.  1 Cor. 13:4-7  Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Now we are to trust in His promises.  However, we are not to use His promises in some formula or principle to get our way.  The way we trust in His promises is that we trust and believe in Him, and that He is who He says He is.  We do not put our trust in so-called spiritual principles in place of a living being and Lord of our lives.

One good example to dismantle these false beliefs about our faith is the story of Peter walking on the water.  When Peter saw Jesus walking on the water he did not step out of the boat in faith.  He said “Lord, if that is you, bid me to come to you on the water”.  Jesus said “Come”(Matt. 14:28-19).  It was only AFTER Peter had Jesus’ will and spoken word to that situation; could he then walk on the water.  Without that, he could not have walked on the water no matter how much faith he had.

Now I know that some may argue that we already have Jesus’ will and spoken word (the bible) to stand on.  However, I disagree.  The scriptures by themselves are the letter that kills.  2 Cor. 3:6  He who made us worthy to be Ministers of The New Covenant, not in The Scripture, but in The Spirit, for The Scripture kills, but The Spirit gives life.  We do not follow scriptures.  We follow the living word which is Jesus Christ.  Only when He gives us a scripture for our circumstances is it then His SPOKEN will and word to us for our situation.  There are many believers that lay claim to His promises of prosperity, provision, healing or whatever, when He is trying to tell them to repent of something.  In that circumstance, His only spoken word to them is REPENT and no matter how much they may claim or stand on His other promises, He will not honor them.

Now the main burden on my heart about these false teachings is that they have caused many believers to become what I call self-confident fools.  They follow principles instead of a living Lord and believe that their faith will move God’s hand on their behalf.  They have confidence in their faith and believe that their faith will get them through the coming days of darkness.  In these days all that can be shaken will be and that includes doctrines and the foundation of our faith.  Unfortunately, these self-confident fools that have confidence in their faith will be like the foolish man that built his house on the sand in Jesus’ parable.  It would behoove all who are still confident in their faith to repent and learn to rest in His mercy.

When thinking of these poor deceived people, I am reminded of Jesus’ parable of the Pharisee and tax collector. Luke 18:9-14  He also told this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and treated others with contempt: “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee, standing by himself, prayed thus: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I get.’ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”   In this parable, it speaks of those that are confident that they are right with God when they truly are not.  It was the tax collector that cried out for God’s mercy that was justified.  Unfortunately, these self-confident fools are convinced that they are right with God though they are not.

We must all learn to humble ourselves and cry out to Him for His mercy.  Technically speaking, it will NOT be our faith that gets us through the days ahead.  It will be our Lord Jesus Christ as we put our trust and faith in Him as a person, not any so-called spiritual principles. I pray that all reading this will pray about it and see if they have confidence in their faith instead of relying on God’s mercy.

Now to any that may be offended at this.  The fact that you are offended should tell you something about your faith because the cross is an offense to our flesh.  So if this offends you, then possibly you have faith in your faith and not true faith in Jesus as Lord of your life.  Before shunning all of this as foolishness, I would ask you to seek the Lord in this and see if what I am saying is true.

I send this letter out in love to all that would have ears to hear as it is my desire for all of us to help each other as one body get through the days of darkness that are just ahead.  I truly believe that ONLY our Lord Jesus Christ will be the ark of safety.  Any trust in ourselves (faith in our faith) or principles will cause us to stumble and may even be our demise.  I pray that all reading this will see that I say all of this out of love and concern for my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and not as an argument against other’s doctrines or beliefs.

Blessings to you all,

A servant of Jesus Christ,

Kevin Barrett

  1. Dear brother, Gods word say to test all things that come are way, that includes prophesies, toques, doctrines/teaching. The word say that prophets are subject to prophets. So I sent your words to men of God who are very prophetic, and move in that gift. Then all asked the say questions.

    1. Is the person under any pastoral authority and church covering?
    2. When he gets words from the thrown does he summit them to the leadership first for testing before sending them out to the public?
    3. Dose he heed the advice of his leadership before sending out to the public?

These were concerned question, because there are many lone range and wounded prophets out there just doing there on thing causing a lot of confession disunity in the body of Christ. I know for me that I’ve been caught up with a lot of deceptions and false teachings, and right now I’m so burned out who’s really bring truth. I to see within me the defilement and sin that I so despise and what to be free from. I to, am burn out on churchianity and the many different denominations I wonder if Jesus pray in John 17 will ever be answered. I so want to know him, I get so upset when I hear minister or people talk about there relationship they have with him. Yes I to see what is coming to this nation and the world very very soon. I’m at a point in my job situation, to begin to go part time so I can spend that time getting to know my Lord and Savior, to be in the secret place and be loved by him as well as I love him. I hope u understand where these men as well as I are coming from.

    Brother John

    • Hello John, my brother in Christ,

Thank you for writing in your concern. You are absolutely correct in testing all things. However, you are misinformed about your understanding of scriptures. Before I explain this, I would like to address something you said. You said that you have been caught up in deceptions and false teachings and seemed to be burned out in knowing who is bringing truth. Brother John, the reason for all of this is because you are relying on man to bring you truth. As long as you do this, you will ALWAYS be deceived in some way.

John, the word tells us to study the word for ourselves to show ourselves approved unto God.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. 1 John 2:27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true–it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ. John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

John, you need the Holy Spirit to teach you His truth. If you do not have the Holy Spirit, you can simply ask God to baptize you in His Spirit and He will. Luke 11:13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” You need to stop relying on man to give you truth. Yes, we have many ministers sent by God for teaching, pastoring, and prophesying to the body of Christ. However, we are to read His word and seek Him and His truth for ourselves. If we do not, and only rely on others to teach us His truth, then we will be deceived. I once heard that those in law enforcement that seek out counterfeit money never do study the counterfeit money to know if it is real or not. Instead, they study the real money and know it well so that when they see counterfeit, they immediately know that it is not the real. We are to do the same by studying the word of God for ourselves and let the Holy Spirit show us the truth as we study so that when we hear what is false, we immediately know it.

Unfortunately we are in the last days where there is a lot of false doctrine in the churches and people are eating it all up because they do not study the word for themselves. And the churches like it this way because if everyone started seeking His truth, then they would know that the churches are the harlot that Revelations speaks about.

Now having said all of this, I would like to address your misunderstanding of scriptures. You said that the prophets are subject to prophets. This is NOT true at all and is the opposite of the truth. I think that you may thinking of 1 Corinthians 14:32 And the spirits of the Prophets are subiect to the Prophets. This scripture simply states that the gift of prophecy is subject to the prophet using the gift. Prophets are not subject to each other. They are subject to God. There is even an instance in scriptures where God judged a prophet for subjecting himself to another prophet instead of obeying God. (1 Kings 12 & 13).

You also mentioned that there are a lot of lone ranger prophets out there that are wounded and causing a lot of confusion and disunity in the body of Christ. This is because the Lord has true prophets to live a lonely life submitted to Him only and they are rejected by many. We have many examples of this in scripture. I think you may be mixing up those moving in a prophetic gift with those operating in the office of a prophet. They are not the same. Anyone that brings a message from the Lord via tongues, interpretation or prophecy is prophesying. However, there are those who hold the office of a prophet, and they are a separate group altogether. Every believer may prophesy in the sense of bringing a word from the Lord, but not all the members of the church hold the Prophetic Office. A passage that clearly shows the distinction is Acts 21:9 9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, who prophesied.10 And as we tarried [there] many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus. In these scriptures, Philip had four daughters that exercised a prophetic ministry, but they were not classed as prophets. Agabus however, held the prophetic office and was referred to as a prophet.

John, those in the church bringing forth a prophecy from the gift of prophecy may be subject to the leaders. But those that hold the office of a prophet are subject to God and not the leaders. The scriptures make the order very clear in 1 Corinthians 12:28, And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. We see here that God has appointed the prophet just under the apostles and the church governmental leadership is next to last on the list. However, man has put the governmental leaders first on the list and made all others subject to them. This is NOT God’s order of the church and those that do this are of the harlot church and are not being orchestrated and led by the Holy Spirit.

John, I am concerned about the response from the ones that you said you submitted the prophecies to for testing. First of all, you said they are very prophetic. If this is true, then they would have already discerned by the Spirit if the prophecies are of the Lord or not. I have many people that write in to me telling me to continue in the prophecies because the Holy Spirit in them witnessed that the prophecies are from the Lord. I also am submitted to an Apostle (appointed by God, not man) that witnesses that the prophecies are from the Lord. And I even have a friend who has been a prophet since the 80s and is very seasoned in discernment and he bares witness that the prophecies are from the Lord. In addition to my concern that these men did not have discernment to know if these are from the Lord or not, they all gave you the same standard of testing that is NOT scriptural at all. The word tells US to test all things, it does not tell us to submit all things to church leaders for testing. And the way we test all things is by weighing it against scripture and get a witness from the Holy Spirit. This is why I always add scriptures to the prophecies so that those like you that are not well versed in scripture may see that the prophecies line up with scripture. I am shocked that the men you submitted the prophecies to did not tell you to weigh them against scripture to see if they line up. The only standard of truth is the scriptures and the Holy Spirit, NOT church leadership.

You seem very confused and God is not the author of confusion. You MUST seek a close relationship with the Lord and study the word of God for yourself instead of relying on others. The prophetic warning the Lord gives me are not new. He has been sending these warnings out for years. For anyone claiming to be Christian and not know what is coming does not have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. The men you say that have a prophetic gift should already know what is coming. If they do not, they are listening to deceiving spirits. John, I would advise you to stop listening to church leaders for a while and get alone with God and in His word. You are confused and need to know His truth. The only way to do this is to know Him intimately and His word.

I will be praying for you.

      Many blessings to you,

      A servant of Jesus Christ,
      Kevin Barrett

      • Greeting brother Kevin, I want to thank you for opening my eyes and seeing where i’m at in Christ, thanks for the correction and admonishment. After reading your comment to me I have been searching my heart asking Daddy to show me where I stand in our relationship too each other. One thing I see is that I’ve aloud the tare of this world to choke out the good seed of Gods word, and I have to repent of letting the world, the flesh and Satan, to take me off the narrow path and put me on the broad path that led to death. So again thanks, may the Lord bless u and keep u and give u peace.

        John

      • Hello Brother John,

I am glad to hear that I was able to help you in seeing your need for a close relationship with our Lord Jesus. I’m also glad to hear that you are once again seeking the narrow path. I have been praying for you, John, and will continue.

        Many blessings to you,

        Kevin

  2. 2 Peter 3:11

(KJV) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved,

what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

(netbible.org) Since all these things are to melt away in this manner,

what sort of people must we be, conducting our lives in holiness and godliness.

This verse came into my mind as I thought about the topic of your post. For me it is a very challenging verse (because it shows the aim/ end-purpose of our lives very clearly in a short form) and the sum of your post.

    Greetings,
    E.W.

  3. God Bless You Kevin1

I read your comments yssterday. And this morning during meditation the Lord led me to Malachi 1:12. I like the Message version which says,Malachi 1:12 “All except you. Instead of honoring me, you profane me. You profane me when you say, ‘Worship is not important, and what we bring to worship is of no account,’ and when you say, ‘I’m bored—this doesn’t do anything for me.’ You act so superior, sticking your noses in the air—act superior to me, God-of-the-Angel-Armies! And when you do offer something to me, it’s a hand-me-down, or broken, or useless. Do you think I’m going to accept it? This is God speaking to you!

I think that this may be one of our greatest problems and why we so desperately need the truth of God’s word given with love and firmness.
You do both. Just as any good father does with his children. We are God’s children and the heat of His chastisement we must bear. It is only to make us better, not to harm us.

This has been a difficult lesson for me but one for which I am grateful and learning to give thanks to God in all things. Nothing He does will ever be more loving than giving His only Son in exchange for our sins.
Oh, What Love. The very least that we can do is give Him our best! Amen.

    Abundant Love!.

    • Amen Kaaren,

I read your message and truly enjoyed it. Yes, your words are true; we ARE the church and many fail to see that. However, I am excited in anticipation to see the fulfillment of His true church operating in these last days for all to see. His true church will ONLY be an expression of Him as He will live, abide and have His being in us and through us. PTL

      Many blessings to you, sister

  4. Hi Brother Kevin, I’ve read all your Words since you came on OH.com, but this one was instrumental. I’ve been trying to figure out, I even had bits and pieces of the revalations you’ve given here, but to see it all put together like this was just a God thing. The “Christians” fighting my ministry here are the supposed good guys, the dot the I’s and cross the t’s, people would swear by them they are the good upstanding citizens they say they are, but they reveal to me that they have no God in them, when it comes down to the real things of God. I’ve been so perplexed by this, when God begin to show me their hearts; I mean they quote more scripture than me, they recite their promises they are standing on, they are quick to give an answer for why and what they believe, and most would swear they are the real deal, and yet I do not bear any witness with these men in my area; now that I have a community ministry in the streets of a low income area, these very ones are praying for me to fail, their true colors have come out, and that has really floored me. How can anybody who loves God, see a fellowservant in the highways and byways compelling them to come in, fight against that servant, and call themselves Christians? This has really helped me, I will read it again tomorrow. God bless you Brother Kevin.

    • Hello brother Curtis,

Many blessings to you. I’m really glad that the Lord was able to use the message I wrote to be an eye opener for you. I know VERY well the type of people that you have described. The Lord just recently delivered me from 20 years of living in a family of these people. When I gave my heart to the Lord 20 years ago, He gave me a spiritual mother to nurture and help me grow in the Lord. Unfortunately, her family came as a package deal and they are just like the ones you described. They always wanted me to fail and even prayed against me for many years. The last few years I only lived with my spiritual mother because she was old in age and needed me to take care of her (her own family neglected her). The Lord recently took her home this last April and I could finally leave her house and get away from these people. Curtis, I could tell you so many stories of how I gave my love and sacrificed myself for this family and they only repaid me with evil. And, they would seemingly pat themselves on the back believing that they are such wonderful Christians.

Well Curtis, I have to tell you that it took a long time for my eyes to be open to it, but the Lord showed me that these people are not true followers of Christ. They are the religious, the goats, the tares, the Sauls that scripture speaks about.

If you’re not aware, Saul represents the religious church and David represents the true church of the true remnant believers. It is time for the end of the religious church (Saul’s reign) and time for God to build His true church (David’s reign). And so the religious spirit is jealous of the remnant just like Saul was jealous of David. And just like Saul sought after David’s life, so too will the religious persecute the true Jesus followers just like the religious persecuted Jesus, Himself.

Curtis, I know that these people can quote scriptures and really look like the real deal. That is why they are called tares in scripture. A tare looks just like the wheat up until harvest time. The wheat will turn golden and bow over (humility) and the tare will turn dark and stand straight up (pride). You are seeing the beginning of the tares showing their true color. We are in the days when God is about to separate the wheat from the tares and you will be persecuted more and more by these religious people. But take heart, your reward is in heaven and our Heavenly Father is for you.

Curtis, keep doing what you are doing. The Lord is allowing you to see their hearts to let you know that they are your enemies so DO NOT trust them even when they are kind to your face. But always show them the love of Christ and never repay evil for evil (which you probably already know that).

I have so much I could say on this, but I believe you get the point.

Soldier on, Curtis. You are a true follower of Christ and need not to be ashamed. Welcome to the battlefield…….

Much love and blessings to you in Christ,

      Kevin

  5. Dear Kevin: Thank you for being faithful in giving this Word and Revelation from the Lord! I sensed that all that puffed up preaching about prosperity and hoarding material things…bigger house, newer car, was a trick of the enemy and so many were falling into it and since the Holy Scripture was used as the “go ahead” on this false doctrine, or lies of Satan, many sheople were replacing their narrow way Bibles with it. It’s so easy and comfortable to fall into that trap.
But it is a trap b/c we lose sight of the fact that we need to be “out there” preaching the Gospel to all people. We don’t need to be a preacher with a doctorate degree to do that. All we need is the Word of God, the message of Salvation, Sanctification and Redemption.
We need to warn that He is Coming so very soon and to get ready….prepare our hearts and our wedding garments. All this “stuff”, nice as it is, is left behind. Who in their right mind wants to say to the Bridegroom, “sorry, can’t come to the Wedding Feast, I just bought an oxen, or some land, or got married” and I need to excuse myself.”
What did the Great King say to His servants, (us) when that happened? He was very “wroth” and said “Go out into the highways and the byways and bring in the halt and the maimed, etc, and COMPEL them to come in. For I want my House to be FULL.”
So how do we preach the Gospel? We need to ask where to go and with whom because the time and window for doing The Great Commission is closing. This coming Middle east war will change everything. So don’t go to your doctrines and principals so much as Kevin shows us, but find the Living Savior, Jesus Christ, and ask Him and surely He will tell you. For it is His Will. Mary Thompson

    • Amen, Mary

And thank you for your kind words.

      Blessings to you,

      Kevin

    • God bless you Kevin!

I just can’t say enough about how much men like you are needed for the growth of the Kingdom here on earth. We desperately need to “hear” the truth! If then we choose to rebel I will pray for them!

You are a fresh wind in the middle of a dump station. Thank you soooo much for continuously feeding the sheep no matter where they are!

Abundant love and grace to you.

      • Hello Kaaren,

Thank you for your kind words.

Much love and blessings to you,

        Kevin

      • Dear Kevin: I did leave a reply but I’m not sure you got it. In case you did I’d prefer not to post comment again. But if you didn’t just thanks for your post as it is totally Scriptural. We are always on safe ground in that case! Amen.

      • Hello,

I’m not sure if I received your earlier comment. However, thank you for your kind words.

        Blessings to you,

        Kevin

      • OK, fellowshiping with other believers is fantastic! Does this put us in God’s “Book of Remembrance”? I hope! I don’t recall at the moment any specific points I wanted to make except to say that according to my revelations which come from a variety of reliable Godly sources…..it is preparation time for the Bride of Christ. We are to be like Esther and be busy preparing for our entrance to marry the King of the Universe, all the Body of Christ as One in the Messiah Jesus! The Wedding Feast is not something anyone would want to miss! I sure don’t. And seeing Jesus as The Bridegroom will be the epitome of a lifetime….make it all worth it. “Our present suffering is not to be compared with the glory that will be revealed”. I’m sure He will dance us around the planets and stars after the Banquet with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the other Patriarchs and Apostles and saints…..we will be enveloped in heavenly music, attire, and love. Let us strive to enter into His Rest. Out with the spots and wrinkles. They aren’t worth missing God’s Best for His Bride. Keep your oil lamps full and the wicks trimmed it really is sooner and sooner every minute. They are talking about the Temple Mount folks….that is God’s second hand on the End Time Clock!

      • Hello, Mary

        Amen, Amen and Amen………

        Many blessings to you,

        Kevin

      • And even more Blessings to you!

    • Glory to God! Thank you Mary.

Last week I was on a spiritual sabbatical (don’t like the term retreat) with my sister in Ocean City. Each day I arose early to meditate and then pray. The Lord always gives me a scripture for the meditation.
On the 13th He gave me Matthew 10:16 “16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”

As I read Matthew 10 in its entirety, I received another revelation on the following verses:.

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Your post was confirmation! Jesus never sent the discriples out to preach on prosperity or denominations, or grace or “anything accept The Kingdom of God is at hand.”

My passion is for healing. Several years ago the Lord said to me tha thealing was not my primary gift! It is a bi-product (secondary) to preahing the word! The healing and deliverance comes after the word.
It is the miracles that will draw others. But our hearts must be ready
      to receive Him first.

Thank both you and Kevin for your candidacy and uncompromising
and willingness to preach the unadulterated truth!

      Much love to you both,

      • Amen Kaaren,

You are so right. We are to demonstrate the Kingdom of God and the signs will follow.

I enjoy your fire for the Lord and His pure word, Kaaren.

        Blessings,

        Kevin

  6. Love and Blessings Kevin!

Since awakening this morning I have repeatedly heard the word “preparation.” As I remembered your post on preparation, I asked God to reveal those things that still remain in my life that need to be cleansed. I thought about the “prospective bride getting to enter another way of life with her groom. Oh what love radiates from both of them! Then I received the following which gave
me greater insight into what the “preparation” is and what it is to accomplish. As we heed the trumpet call to repent of our ways (sinful), let us also understand that the spots and wrinkles in the church are being removed with the purpose of making us more Christ-like and ready to wed the King.. And let us submit.

I want to share with you this message from Pastor Debra of Daughters of Z at http://daughtersofz.typepad.com received today. God bless and continue to keep you.:

    Ears to Hear/Hearts to Obey
    Posted: 24 Jul 2012 03:38 AM PDT

    Good morning,

From the time of our new birth God has been making our wilderness into the garden of Eden. He has been doing an extreme makeover in our lives. “For the Lord will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And He will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song or instrument of praise”. (Is. 51:3) In the garden of Eden, Adam and Eve walked and talked with God in the cool of the day. They had an intimate relationship, that is what God desires from us in His garden of Eden within. We have the same choices as Adam and Eve did in the garden of Eden, we can serve God and pay no attention to the devil and our end will be entirely different. Allow God to be God and do His tending in us. Wilderness means uncultivated, pathless, or barren, confusing mass of something, confusion, or desert waste. Eden means pleasure and delight. God has been turning and will continue to turn our mass of confusion into a place of delight and pleasure. Our soul is God’s garden that He is involved in restoring, He is working with us to bring about peace and beauty. “Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.” (Jer. 31:12) Watered garden means steeped in moisture, saturated, completely penetrated, a garden is an enclosure, “figuratively of a bride”‘ a cultivated area (prepared, loosened; breaking up of the hard ground for the purpose of killing weeds and modifying moisture retention.

God waters and weeds His garden (our soul) as we renew our mind with the Word of God. Ephesians 5:26; “So that He [Christ] might sanctify her [the Church], having cleansed her by the washing of water with the Word.” John refers to this as he talks about us producing much better fruit in the garden. “I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit. You are cleansed and pruned already, because of the word which I have given you [the teachings I have discussed with you].” (John 15:1-3) God is always cleaning and pruning in our garden in order to change the uncultivated area into a cultivated one. We are like a bride being prepared and ready for her King. Our Vinedresser is using everything in our life to prune and cut away the dead and unfruitful things that have grown in our lives. Pruning is to bring rejuvenation, it involves cutting back, deadheading and pinching. Cutting back is when older leaves start looking worn, you can cut it back to where there is fresh growth or all the way back. Sometimes you cut back when a plant grows too tall to support itself and encourage the plant to become more stockier; more blooms and stems. Deadheading is removing things that once bloomed but are now dead; removing the dead will cause new blooms. Every plant benefits from deadheading because the plants put their energy into strengthening itself. Pinching is done more often than deadheading, like every 2 to 3 weeks. It is done by using your fingers, it is not as forceful as the other methods, yet it also produces a more fuller plant. Sounds like pruning is all for our good to get us to produce better, fuller, stockier blooms, and to remove all dead things to make room for the new! Let’s yield to the hands of the One Who tends our garden. It may hurt or be uncomfortable, but since we know He loves us, we can trust His pinching, deadheading, and cutting back is actions of love.
    Love,

    Pastor D.

    • Amen, Kaaren

      Thank you for sharing.

      Love and blessings,

      Kevin

    • Dear Kaaren. I had to blink twice to make sure it wasn’t I who wrote this….article that you wrote…due to the fact that The Lord says these things to be all the time from time memorial with my walk with the Lord. At one time or the other The Lord Jesus Christ has said each and every word that is on your site to me….so I know it is He.
Yes, preparation is vital and I too have asked The Lord to show me what needs to be done and am going as fast as I can. I need to be alone alot these days so I can hear Him as His ways are not our ways, so He does all things different but well. If we don’t quietly seek His voice we could miss it b/c it is so still and so quiet….and life in general is so bustling and noisy.
But the end result will be well worth it. Besides the alternative is totally unacceptable and while I am intent on my own progress I can’t help begging for my children to be in right standing also and others that I love in the Lord.
If it is time and attention consumming for us….what about those we love that right now could care less? And the time is so short at that!
It had me wondering how Noah felt after God slammed the door shut of the Arc and Noah could hear people he knew and perhaps liked banging on the Arc to get in….what about our Family and Friends?
What about our precious Military fighting so bravely? What about all those who are not at the Table of the Wedding Feast? We must work and pray intensely.

      • Hi Kevin!

First, let me clear up what I believe is some confusion. The article that I posted was written by Pastor Debra Lowe of Daughters of Z — NOT BY ME! Everything that she has sent out since I joined her website has been on point.

Both your article and Pastor D’s have helped those that don’t yet know what to look for see with clearer vision. Unfortunately, I have learned
lately that no matter how much you say or how many times, some folk are going to ignore/reject it. Yes, that is a hurting thing!

Yes, I had to leave town two weeks ago to get into a quiet place. Fortunately the Lord made it possible for me to do that! I was able to
focus and meditate without interruptions, phone ringing, door bells, dogs barking, ambulances, etc. I was on the bay and that made it even
more serene. While in this place of resting with the Lord he put me on two brief fasts. At home I get tempted a lot, but this did not happen there.

I believe that our loves ones will be okay. A couple of days ago I found a card while cleaning out some estate files from the 1990’s. In an uncle’s checkbook the card was folded, very old and you could hardly read it. I was able to make out the scripture which was Isaiah 44:3 which says, “For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring ” This gave me tremendous comfort knowing that we are descendants of Jacob, son of Issac, son of Abraham. If we keep speaking the word in truth as you do, they will be fine!

My 17 year old nephew proved to me lately that even though he does not say much or comment, he is listening. Not all will let us know their feelings and thoughts, but they are taking it in.

Today I had to give a hard warning from the Lord to my sister! It hurt but it had to be said. I believe that she will receive it, even if not right away. Regardless, I still have to be obedient to give it.

Much love to you Kevin. God i

      • Hello dear sister, Kaaren,

Yes, I knew that the teaching was from Pasto D. and not you. However, that is honorable of you to make sure that credit goes where credit is due.

I understand about the getting away to be with the Lord. So many things demand our attention. I’m glad to hear about your time with the Lord.

Yes, it is true that many will not listen. The Lord recently gave me Ezekiel 3:11 “Go to the exiles, to the sons of your people, and speak to them and tell them, whether they listen or not, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD.'”

As for your sister: Proverbs 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend.

Much love and blessings to you, my dear sister,

        Kevin

  7. No I didn’t say that. You misunderstood me or I didn’t say it plain enough. What I meant to say is the Scripture means “the letter kills” and the spirit gives life….meaning to say that the letter shows sin which brings forth death…but the spirit is always tending towards life.
I only use the King James Version, 1611 authorized version, due to the fact that I read Gail Ripplinger’s research and collating results from all these “edited” bibles and she proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the KJV Authorized version is the only preserved Word of God.
All the rest are edited by man. Words taken out and in and no parenthesis and the comments working their way into the texts, and
the NIV for example, having 26,000 words taken OUT…..
“Diminish not a word” God says in the bk of Jeremiah. and if we take or add words …since every dot and tittle will be fulfilled…..our names are removed from the Bk of Life.

  8. Wonderful teaching Kevin!

It certainly re-enforces some of the things that I have learned over the years. I always use the King James Bible. However, I have also ventured into using some others for the sake of teaching with clarity. My favorite is The Jewish Complete Bible.

I have also learned to hold on to the following three scriptures when giving, listening to or reading sermons, books, tapes, etc, And to seek the Spirit for further understanding and.or confirmation:

1 Corinthians 2:14 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
Now the natural man does not receive the things from the Spirit of God — to him they are nonsense! Moreover, he is unable to grasp them, because they are evaluated through the Spirit.

John 14: 26 King James Version
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 John 2:26-27 New Living Translation (NLT)
I am writing these things to warn you about those who want to lead you astray. 27 But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit[b] teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches is true—it is not a lie. So just as he has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ.

It is extremely critical that we have a relationship with the Holy Spirit and hear and know His voice! That will eliminate all of the confusion brought about by denominations, deceivers, variatons and half truths
    provided by others.

I pray that every believer will ask the Father to give them the Holy Sprit
and to enlighten our understanding of the scriptures.

    Much love to all!

    • Amen, Kaaren,

Much love and blessings to you,

      Kevin

    • There is a mystery attached to God’s Word that leads “unto Salvation” and it has “scaffolding”….in other words it builds poetically in the KJV authorized version only. All the other versions are God’s Word edited and improved by man…..NOT! That is why you can’t even memorize
it. But the KJV is easy to memorize. All the diff versions cause confusion and the unity of Scripture among believers is strengthened
when all cling to the same words. It does bring cohesion and unity among believers….for example all you need to do is hear…”Enter in
by the straight gate for narrow is the way…..” and just about every one else can finish the verse for you. It brings cohesion in the Body of Christ and that is what Paul said….”Be of one mind….” and “let everyone have the mind of Christ” what is the mind of Christ if it is not His very Word…..” ?
“The natural man perceiveth not the things of God, they are foolishness to him, they must be spiritually discerned.” Now everyone
look up their different versions and see how many ways man can twist that and put it into their own words….”Lean not unto thy own understanding…..” then count the words…..are they more than 19 words then?
Now try to memorized the KJV version of that that I just gave, and notice the cadence to it….now try to memorize your different versions.
If you were God would you try to make it simple or hard for people?
One preserved Version…..read and quoted by all of the Body of Christ.
It is the Holy Spirit’s job to remind you what Jesus said when he walked the earth and it is the Holy Spirit that will explain to you what the passage says. Not the commentaries and not the different copy right versions…ie…all these new age versions have copy right laws making it against the law to use the same word as they did….so one version in using the word “fat” had to use the word “verdant”.
Hello anybody paying attention to the thief that came in while we were sleeping?
Thank you Kevin for allowing me to defend the KJV, the preserved version as opposed to the new age ones currently on the mkt.

      • Shalom Mary!

Thank you for your comments. I understand your need to defend the KJV as the only true, unadulterated word. But you must understand
that we each have to come to knowledge in our own way — which is thru the Holy Spirit. TRUTH WILL NOT CONTRADICT ITSELF. If we are born again and in the Body of Christ our coming to the truth will surely happen by the Holy Spirit. “All the apples on the tree don’t ripen at the same time.”

If you are attempting to teach you must do it in love. Let the Holy Spirit have His way. And understand that we will never “all come into the unity of faith” until we can appreciate each other as each being a child of God whom He is leading, guiding and preparing to reign in His Kingdom (Ephesians 4:13)

You are so defensive about what version is “correct” that you have totally missed the fact that we are saying the same thing. (My previous quote used the same scriptures that you are quoting!

Don’t be distracted and blinded by allowing the enemy to keep you focused on something over which you have no control. Confusion is not of the Lord! “I bind that spirit of contention in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth; and I loose the Love of God.” Receive it, be delivered in the Name of Jesus!

        Grace and love to you.

      • Amen, Kaaren,

I like your analogy of fruit on a tree not riping at the same time. How true, and we need to be merciful and edifying to all.

        Much love and blessings,

        Kevin

      • Shaloam Kevin and Kaaren and ABC (Born Again Christian) audience: It is true that all fruit does
not ripen at the same time. I always zoom ahead…excuse me if I tread
on sanctified toes….that isn’t my intention. Truth seekers that are very hungry tend to be loud and rude at times. So sowwy!
However, since we all use different translations it is impossible to always get the same message so it does slow us down. Nevertheless, we soldier on the best way we can. Happy Sabbath! Mary T.

      • Amen Mary and much love to you,

        Kevin

      • Thank you for demonstrating longsuffering and patience. You must be very spirit filled then.

      • It takes a long process of dying to self and allowing the Holy Spirit to take over…. 🙂

      • That is the way it happens. Die to the flesh and live in the Spirit. Deny ourselves…..focus on others and following Jesus….whereever He may lead….by faith.

      • Good Morning Kevin, Mary and Readers!

Thanks for all of your comments. As a researcher, I thought I needed to study the facts a little more closely regarding our different bible translations. Here is what I found:

        Answer 1
The Bible was originally written in Hebrew (with some Aramaic in Daniel) for the Old Testament and Greek for the New Testament. The New Testament was originally written in Koine (common) Greek.

The Bible, as we know it today, was originally not a single volume, but a collection of handwritten scrolls. The Christian Old Testament (excluding the Catholic Deutero-canonical works) corresponds to the Hebrew Bible.

The Old Testament was later translated in to Greek (the Septuagint) and the whole Bible into Latin by St Jerome in the fourth century.

        Answer 2
Some people believe that the New Testament books were originally written in Aramaic. Aramaic was day to day spoken language of Israel between 516 BCE and 70 AD and therefore the native language of Jesus. However, the earliest version of most of the New Testament is Greek so, if the Gospels were written in Aramaic, they must have been translations from Aramaic to Greek, then to English.

Enjoy a bit of our history. Much love to you all!

        In Our Father’s Service,

        Kaaren

      • Hello Kaaren and others that may be pondering on the subject of the KJV being the only pure word of God.

Well, here’s my take on the subject: To my knowledge, God has NEVER told anyone that the KJV is the only pure word of God. And if it is, then even the KJV onlyist still have the wrong version because it was rewritten in 1769 from it’s original writing in 1611.

Now having said that, I personally use the KJV for study. It has certain scriptures in it that are not written the same in other versions and this takes away the meaning of what I get from the KJV. Per example: 1 John 4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; (NASB which I also read). Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: (KJV) The KJV says that only those of the Spirit of God can confess that Jesus Christ IS come in the flesh. Other versions say Jesus Christ has come in the flesh. I do not know first hand, but have heard people say that they have witnessed demons in people confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Confessing that and confessing the He IS come in the flesh is two totally different things. Just like the religious of Jesus’ days missed their Messiah that they were waiting on, so too shall it be today. Jesus is going to appear IN His body before He comes FOR His body. One cannot get this revelation from many other bible versions.

However, I enjoy reading other versions when meditating or trying to better give my point on a subject. I have a friend who is a seasoned prophet of the Lord and he told me that the Lord has also had him to use different versions when expressing certain points.

So even though I lean toward the KJV for study, I cannot say that it is the only pure word of God. I do, however stay away from some versions like the NIV because of all the scriptures left out of it and many twists of scripture meanings.

Also, I would like to address the subject of us all using the same version in order to get the same message. I don’t beleive this relies on the versions, but yet our unity in Spirit will ONLY be by the Spirit of God. Acts 2:4-6 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. So the versions we all use is not so important compared to being in one accord in the Spirit of Christ Jesus.

Now that I have given my take on the subject. Here is a little message for all the KJV onliest…..

Much love and blessings to you all….

        KJV 1611 vs. KJV 1769
by Rick Beckman on March 24, 02007

I have heard this enough in varying places that I wanted to post this just to help others not be duped by the statement: “The only changes made since the 1611 translation of the KJV until now have been changes of spelling or printing only.”

That statement is a lie, and people who love Jesus & the Bible should not make such a claim — even if they do have the best of intentions in doing so!
So here is a list of significant changes (i.e., changes which affect meaning) made to the KJV text since 1611. The 1611 reading is first, followed by the 1769.

■1 Corinthians 12:28 — “helpes in gouernmets” vs. “helps, governments”
■Joshua 3:11 — “Arke of the Couenant, euen the Lord” vs. “ark of the covenant of the Lord”
■2 Kings 11:10 — “in the Temple” vs. “in the temple of the LORD”
■Isaiah 49:13 — “for God” vs. “for the LORD”
■Jeremiah 31:14 — “with goodnesse” vs. “with my goodness”
■Jeremiah 51:30 — “burnt their dwelling places” vs. “burned her dwellingplaces”
■Ezekiel 6:8 — “that he may” vs. “that ye may”
■Ezekiel 24:5 — “let him seethe” vs. “let them seethe”
■Ezekiel 24:7 — “powred it vpon the ground” vs. “poured it not upon the ground”
■Ezekiel 48:8 — “which they shall” vs. “which ye shall”
        ■Daniel 3:15 — “a fierie furnace” vs. “a burning fiery furnace”
■Matthew 14:9 — “the othes sake” vs. “the oath’s sake”
■1 Corinthians 15:6 — “And that” vs. “After that”
■1 John 5:12 — “the Sonne, hath” vs. “the Son of God hath”
If anyone wants to check out the above readings for themselves, both the 1611 KJV and the 1769 KJV are available freely for e-Sword.:”(The list itself can be found in Differences Between Bible Versions Updated and Expanded Edition by Gary F. Zeolla.)”:

Additionally, even in today there are two versions of the KJV in use: the Oxford and the Cambridge editions. Some of the differences in them affect the meaning of the text as well. For example, here are a couple Cambridge passages vs. their Oxford counterparts.

■Jeremiah 34:16 — “whom ye had set” vs. “whom he had set”
■2 Timothy 2:2 — “heard from me” vs. “heard of me”
One cannot help to wonder about KJV-Onlyism in light of the above… Was the King James Version of 1611 perfect? If yes, why were there such substantial changes made to the text between then and 1769? By using a modern edition of the KJV, the Onlyists are admitting that the 1611 translation was flawed!

And what about those modern versions? Which one is correct? Why? Upon whose authority?

Which edition of the KJV is perfect?

Between 1611 and 1769, was there a perfect English translation?

Why is the 1769 edition perfect?

If you believe that translations can be inspired or that the KJV is advanced revelation of some kind, as some KJV-Onlyists do, why did God take over a hundred years to continue to revise His 1611 work? Does God operate on a trial and error basis?

I think these are all legitimate questions, but from my experience of being a KJV-Onlyist, I always heard that there were no substantial differences between the 1611 and the 1769. It is often claimed, as I noted above, that only spelling & printing errors were fixed. But clearly, there were changes to the content at well.

KJV-Onlyists should be aware of these claims, especially if they’ve bought the lie that there were no substantial changes.

After all, knowing is half the battle. 🙂
