Warning signs to prepare for judgment.

Greetings Dear Saints.

I write to you all this day with a desire to share with my brothers and sisters in Christ what has been on my heart lately.  I strongly feel that the Lord has been giving us signs of things to shortly come.  In His mercy, He is giving us warning signs to prepare.  I feel like we have been given just a little more time of mercy before His judgments hit.

This feeling started two weeks ago when I received an email from a dear friend, and prophet.  He was sharing a news article about hurricane Karen that was due to strike the Gulf coast.  This is the clipping from the article that he sent:

“The National Weather Service said Saturday evening that the storm was stationary but still expected to move across or near the southeast Louisiana coast late Saturday or early Sunday, then track eastward. It had spent the day either stalled or moving slowly.”

My friend commented that he felt that this article was reflecting God’s judgment, “stalled because of prayers, but still just off the coastlines and coming soon. “  And as we now know, hurricane Karen finally dissipated.  We also know that many times hurricanes are a sign of God’s judgment or displeasure.  Amos 3:6 Is a trumpet blown in a city, and the people are not afraid? Does disaster come to a city, unless the LORD has done it?

However, even though hurricane Karen dissipated, it does not mean that His judgments will.  I agree with my friend that we see God’s warning in this news article of hurricane Karen; “stationary, but still expected”.

In addition to this warning sign, I feel that the recent Government shutdown was also a sign.  Although I feel that the shutdown and much of what the media was portraying was propaganda, I choose not to reflect on that aspect, but instead on the events during the so-called shutdown.

The recent debate over raising the debt ceiling has possibly been the most heated governmental debate I have witnessed in my lifetime.  I don’t watch television anymore, but I was so intrigued by this fury and division in the government that I listened to the latest news on the radio each time I got into my vehicle.  As I would listen to all the division in the government and among the people, I kept thinking of a prophetic word in which the Lord gave right after the last elections.  The Lord spoke of a division that would start within the political arena and would spread to a civil war among the people of America.

I listened and waited in anticipation to see if there would be an agreement to lift the debt ceiling, because if it did not get lifted, there could be serious repercussions.  However, as we all now know, there was an agreement, but only temporary.  So for now, we have a few more months before the debate starts up again.  I believe this to be a sign just like hurricane Karen, telling us that the division in America is stationary, but still expected.

In addition to the heat between the two parties, we witnessed a little chaos within some states over the Electronic Benefits Transfer system (EBT or food stamp program).  Seventeen states had what they called a glitch in the EBT system that left food stamp recipients unable to purchase any food.  It’s reported that the system was only down for about two hours.  But within just those two hours that people could not get food, there was an up-rising with threats of mass rioting.  Imagine what would happen when food stamp recipients can no longer use the EBT system at all.

In contrast to the threats of rioting because of the glitch, in Louisiana, Wal-Mart shelves were emptied within those two hours.  Even though Wal-Mart knew about the glitch, some store supervisors allowed EBT recipients to purchase food though the cards had no limit due to the glitch.  The no-limit on food stirred up a frenzy of people swarming Wal-Mart with some people filling 10 or more baskets of food.  Within those two hours of the glitch, Louisiana’s Wal-Mart shelves were emptied.  I also find it interesting that this happened in Louisiana where hurricane Karen was due to hit.  I believe the Lord was confirming His warning of judgment to come.

I believe this to also be a sign of just how quick there will be riots and empty stores when judgment  does hit.  I also believe the Lord has given us these warning signs with a short window of opportunity to prepare.  In addition to the civil unrest that’s coming.  A natural disaster is coming that will change life as we know it.  Some are speculating that comet Ison, which is due to skirt our sun sometime in November or December, will cause natural calamities of biblical proportion.  Now I’m not saying that this is true, but I do know that something of that magnitude is coming.

I believe that most importantly, everyone should be seeking God more fervently and reverently than ever before.   Also, we all should be prepared in the natural as well.  I think that it would be wise to be packed with emergency food and items, ready to leave your home or city in a moments notice if needed to.  It would also be wise to have enough food stored up that if and when the store shelves were emptied out, you would still have food for a while, even if it’s just rice and beans.  We should also store up on water.  In addition, it would be wise to keep your vehicles filled with gas as often as possible.  If you suddenly have to leave your city, the gas lines will be jammed.

I feel lead to give this warning to my brothers and sisters in Christ so that we may all be prepared and not caught by surprise as those who live in darkness.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-6  Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you.  For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.  While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.  But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.  For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.  So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.

There are two prophetic warnings from the Lord that ring in my heart about what is to come.  I recommend that you read them if you haven’t before.  And if you have, then please re-read them and take them to heart.  Links to the prophetic words are here:

In all of this, we are not to get into fear.  Trust in the Lord.  He will protect and provide for His own.

I would also like to take this time to give a warm “thank you” for those of you that have been faithful in sending in your tithe and offerings.  Your love gifts have been a blessing and a tremendous help.  Thank you all so much.

May God’s mercy and grace be upon you all.

Your brother in Christ,

Kevin B.
